Live Blogging Love

Most of us are more familiar with the live streams of Facebook and Twitter.  But the hype surrounding the new iPhone 4S (yes, it’s not the iPhone 5, we are all disappointed) revealed another emerging trend: Live Blogging.

So what is it? First of all, it’s a blog, which means you can write as much as you want, put pictures in it and play with design and content elements.  However, blogs are more about things that have happened, or things which will happen, but now we are seeing more and more people blog the ‘happening’. The iPhone 4S live blog ‘Let’s talk iPhone’ showed that thousands of people have been waiting for news and following the live blog with excitement and passion. That’s what live blogs are for: the chance to know the very latest…as it happens.

Websites, like Wordfaire, offer the possibility of real Live Blogging in an easy way for free. So what’s attractive about Live Blogging? Whilst Twitter feeds and Facebook live streams only appear to a pool of followers (and you have to be registered) Live Blogs are open to everyone and still carries the taste of journalism. I think Live Blogging will get more attention within the next couple of months. What is your opinion?
