In what has been a chaotic and shameful few days on the streets of London and now elsewhere in the UK, the reaction on social networks has been huge. We’ve seen everything from groups organising riot cleanup up initiatives to the Met Police using Flickr to help identify and catch looters. We now even have a rap song :

It just goes to show how powerful social media can be when trying to bring communities together for a common cause, and as a Londoner its quite humbling to see some of the initiatives being driven forward to protect the society we live in.
